Back to basics

I’ve been so busy trying to build muscle and train for the marathon that I’ve neglected where it all began.  With yoga that is!  Yoga was my 1st and only love for a long time.  Now that I have so much other stuff going on, it’s time to get back to the basics.  Back to a place that has brought me solitude on many days.  Back to a place of harmony within myself.  Below is one of my favorite Bikram yoga poses.  It has so many wonderful benefits.  You should try it!

Benefits : 

  • Standing Bow moves all the blood from one side of the body to the other, then back again.

  • It develops balance, increases the size and elasticity of the rib cage, firms the abdominal wall and upper thighs.

  • It improves the flexibility and strength of the lower spine.
